At IBC, Streambox Inc. will release its SBT3-7500 encoder, a new generation of the company's video transport solutions for mobile newsgathering over IP or satellite. The new encoder is a full-featured, plug-and-connect, real-time video transport system.
The SBT3-7500 system is built on the Streambox ACT-L3 codec and advanced proprietary video compression technology used by broadcasters, satellite, and cable operators worldwide. The company said the new encoder delivers MPEG-2 video quality at a 75 percent lower data rate and provides up to 50 percent better efficiency than MPEG-4 systems.
The Streambox SBT3-7500 weighs five pounds and measures just 2.5 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 13 inches deep offers a compact design that makes the SBT3-7500 a solution for mobile newsgathering, whether used in a news truck or for airborne/seaborne surveillance and video transport. The system supports 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 color profiles.
