Sonifex to Showcase Dual Sample Rate Converter, Unity Gain Switcher at IBC

At IBC2007, Sonifex will introduce the RB-SC2 dual sample rate converter, 1 RU rackmount device that produces AES/EBU, S/PDIF and TOSlink optical level digital audio outputs from a balanced AES/EBU, S/PDIF and TOSlink optical level digital audio inputs. The sample rate of the outputs can be set by an internal clock or from various external synchronizer sources.

Supporting frequency rates up to and including 176.4kHz and 192kHz, the RB-SC2 has two independent sample rate converter circuits that use a common clock source to set the output sample rate. An X-Lock mode lets the unit function as a full bidirectional sample rate converter with the output of sample rate converter 1 syncing the input of sample rate converter 2, and vice versa, so they follow each other.

Also new from Sonifex is the RB-OA3 unity gain on-air switcher, which can switch four stereo pairs between three studios. Each studio can control the transmission path, two peripheral paths for equipment such as a codec or hybrid and a "Last studio to offer" bus, allowing for seamless and continuous broadcast from any multistudio radio network.

Sonifex will be in Stand 8.561.
