Scopus Launched New Integrated Receiver Processor Platform

Scopus Video Networks' debuted its Integrated Receiver Processor (IRP) platform at IBC2008. It is a versatile multiformat receiving/decoding/processing platform for cable, satellite, terrestrial, and IPTV operations.

The IRP platform targets broadcasters' requirements for handling multiformat HD/SD content, MPEG-2/H.264 decoding, transport stream descrambling, IP edge streaming, ASI aggregation, remultiplexing, transmodulation, HD-to-SD downconversion, and more.

Additionally, the IRP platform incorporates a multiplexing core that enables grooming and PSIP aggregation of multiple HD and SD programs for digital content distribution. This all-in-one architecture eliminates the need for an external multiplexing device.

Scopus also showed its Eldorado network management system. The system provides full support and compatibility for IP and ASI routing for headend and converged infrastructures. Additionally, Eldorado provides a variety of wizard-based redundancy schemes, including 1:1, N:1, N:M product levels; signal paths; and a unique recovery solution for reception loss.
