The unit, a follow-up to the RFX-RMR-X6 and RMR-X6-II receivers, now has an internal SD/HD decoder.

Other new features include on-screen display of stream data, Ethernet monitoring for remote control access, and IP encapsulation for Internet broadcast. It’s available either as a standalone COFDM receiver with ASI output or with an integral SD/HD decoder to enable decoding locally.

It has a straightforward front panel, compact chassis and OLED graphic display.

“Through the development of the new RMR-X6-II-D, RF Central has expanded diversity receiver options for today’s marketplace,” says RF Extreme vice president of sales and marketing Don Hoeler. “While customers continue to take full advantage of diversity reception with all of the benefits of maximum ratio combining established by our original RFX-RMR-X6, they now have the necessary equipment as they transition into full HD with multiple broadcast delivery platforms.”

RF Central is part of The Vitec Group’s RF Extreme business unit.

RF Central will be at IBC 2009 in Amsterdam, Sept. 10-15, at Stand 1.B31.
