Prime Image Trims Program Time

For broadcasters that need to shave a few seconds off their very short programs, Prime Image, a San Jose, Calif.-based digital video processing company, is offering "The Trimmer," designed to cut time from short programs, including PSA's teasers and commercials, where the original length ranges from 10 seconds to two and a half minutes.

Users can select the rate and span of time reduction they want and then run the program. Features include variable reduction rate controls, digital input and output and four audio channels. Input/output options include component, composite and multi-format HDTV and additional audio channels are available.

According to Prime Image VP Bobbi Hendershot, The Trimmer can provide the time cushion without eliminating program content and with no discernable effects on audio and video.
