Panasonic Debuts New Displays, Projectors at Infocomm

Panasonic is showing a plethora of new products at Infocomm this year, spanning monitors, projectors and displays.

Among the product introductions are 20-inch CT-L2000 and 14-inch CT-L1400 4:3 aspect ratio LCD monitors/receivers for pro audio/video and digital signage applications. The thin monitors have a video response rate of 16-msec, LCD AI technology to enhance images, a brightness of 450cd/m^2, a 400:1 contrast ratio and a horizontal and vertical 160 degrees viewing range.

Also on display were the PT-L735NTU and PT-L735U high-brightness XGA LCD projectors, providing video, text and graphics from computer and audio/video applications. The projectors feature three 0.9-inch LCD panels with a Micro Lens Array and 200 W UHM lamp for 2,600 lumens brightness and 90 percent image uniformity. The projectors are HDTV ready and include an SD Memory Card, 5-watt stereo speakers and support for NTSC, PAL and SECAM.

The PT-LC80U, an XGA resolution, micro-portable LCD projector, has three control buttons -- power, input and audio set-up -- and handles picture adjustments from phasing and dot clocks to vertical and horizontal position. For HDTV, the projector can resize 1080i and 720p images for 16:9 wide-aspect display; 480p, 480i and 576i component video signals and S-Video can also be displayed in either 4:3 or 16:9. It is available for $3,999.

Panasonic also showcased 42-inch HD and SD plasma displays, the TH-42PHD6UY HD and the TH-42PWD6UY SD plasma display panels, which offer support for VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA, a range of DTV signals and 3:2 pulldown technology. The former has a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and is available for $6,995; the latter has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and is priced at $4,995.
