Orad to Showcase 3D Graphics

At IBC2008, graphics provider Orad will introduce a new version of the Maestro 3-D character generator, featuring a complete integration with the company’s graphic asset management system (GAM).

The new version enables users to store all graphic assets in a central database along with relevant metadata. It includes sophisticated user-rights management that manages the access permission rights associated with different assets. A new scene-edit module simplifies the task of modifying or even creating new graphics scenes from scratch. Orad has further updated Maestro functionalities to include subtitle playout, video and audio ingest and interoperability with popular NLE systems. Maestro also now includes support for insertion and playback of up to 12 video clips, sophisticated 3D text handling and dynamic scene blending.

Orad will also showcase its 3DPlay turnkey solution for automatic promos and channel branding. 3DPlay allows users to created customized controls for different types of production without requiring any scripting. A new “Action Browser” feature offers a generic user interface for inserting graphic events into traffic and automation systems, allowing the user to select a graphic element, populate it with relevant data, preview it on a local workstation and publish it to the traffic or automation system.

Also debuting in the Orad booth is a new version of ProSet, which now allows the insertion of semi-transparent 3D graphic elements into the virtual studio.

Orad will mark the IBC debut of its Portal Media Center, which enables consolidation of live video feeds, clips, stills, 3D graphics, text, and audio within a single playout environment. Also new is Motion Video Play, which provides broadcasters with cost-effective image tracking capabilities that enhance action in any sport without requiring camera modifications.

Orad will also display its 3DWeather real-time weather prediction system; ADVision virtual advertising platform; Sport Art on-air graphics solution; 3DReplay soccer analysis system; HDVG (Hi-Definition Digital Video Graphics) graphics rendering platform; and two versions of its TrackVision sport enhancement package—one for live and recorded soccer coverage and a “First-Down Live (FDL)” version for North American football.

Orad will be in Stand 9.E20/IP223.
