Matrox Introduces InfonetTV Content Creation/Playout System

Matrox Video Products Group has rolled out Matrox InfonetTV, an integrated content creation, management and delivery system designed for cable and community television and a variety of closed-network TV uses. Operators can create and communicate messages using minimal effort to a target audience via cable channels, closed-circuit TV and the Internet or an Intranet.

InfonetTV provides a multizone, multimedia content creation environment with broadcast-quality video playout from a single PC. Content can be created and managed remotely over the Internet by any number of authorized users. The system is suited for public, educational and government access (PEG) channels and self-contained internal television channels. It will be available at the beginning of the second quarter of 2002.

The system is the result of collaboration between Matrox Video Products Group, a digital video hardware and software producer, and Capital Networks Limited, which integrates and supports software from DiGiMATiON Inc., a developer of broadcast and place-based multimedia authoring systems.

Features include:
* Precreated and customizable templates;
* Multiple independent zones for easy integration of graphics, text, audio, and live or MPEG-2 video with high-quality picture-in-picture;
* Broadcast-quality output from the Matrox CG2000 card with no need for a scan converter;
* An audience.web software module for generating a graphically identical interactive version of the channel for the Internet.
