Matrox Debuts MXO2 I/O for Mac Editing

At the NAB Show, Montréal-based Matrox Video Products Group is showing its MXO2 for editing workflows with Apple Final Cut Studio and Adobe Production Premium on MacBook Pros and Mac Pros. Matrox MXO2 delivers broadcast-quality input/output, monitoring, and up/down/cross-conversion. The product provides native support for the file-based workflows XDCAM, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, and P2. The lightweight unit fits within a laptop bag, and it can run on a field battery or AC adapter.

Matrox MXO2 supports HD/SD SDI, HD/SD analog component, Y/C, and composite inputs and outputs. The genlock gives SD analog black burst (bi-level) or HD tri-level sync. The unit offers HDMI input, output, and monitoring with calibration controls, including blue-only, plus 10-bit real-time hardware up/down/cross-conversion.

Matrox MXO2 enables up to five user-selectable simultaneous video outputs, which are HD and/or SD on HDMI, SDI and analog. Professional audio inputs and outputs support 5.1 surround-sound monitoring.

The product provides RS-422 machine control for frame-accurate capture and print-to-tape, plus it captures content to a variety of codecs, including Apple ProRes 422 HQ, 10-bit uncompressed HD and more. Matrox MXO2 works with Final Cut Pro, Apple Color, Adobe Premiere Pro and all QuickTime applications that support the V-out component. It is intended for use with Intel-based MacBook Pros and Mac Pros.

The Matrox MXO2 will be available in July.
