K-Tek Premiers Boom Poles With Stereo Cable

At NAB, K-Tek will show its expanded full line of professional audio boom poles with new versions to accommodate stereo microphones.

Now almost every K-Tek Klassic and Avalon boom pole can be ordered either unwired, with a standard internal coiled cable, or prewired with the new coiled stereo cable with standard options. The stereo models feature the same custom-made coil cable as the company’s original factory-wired poles.

The company will also showcase existing products including the K-Tek Klassic Boom Pole series, Avalon Economy Boom Poles, and Zeppelin and Fuzzy Windscreens.

The original K-Tek Klassic five-section boom poles combine top-of-the-line materials and precision engineering. It comes in six sizes, the shortest telescopes from 1 foot, 4 inches to 4 feet, 11 inches. It is available wired with internal cable and bottom or side connector (CC or CCR) or “Flow-through” or “Flow-through Stubby” base (FT or FTS), or unwired. Klassic pole tops feature two sets of slots to accommodate most types of microphone cables.

Crafted from aluminum tubing or the same high-density graphite fiber used in the Klassic line, Avalon boom poles are designed especially for ENG and DV camera crews.

All poles feature the “captive collet” coupling system for the telescoping sections. Factory wired models (CC or CCR) are fitted with a high-quality coiled cord inside the pole and a sturdy male XLR receptacle with a bottom exit or side exit at the base.

The first professional boom pole designed to fit into a standard equipment case, the Avalon traveler (KEG-88 or KE-79) extends to a maximum reach over 6 feet, 7 inches.

K-Tek will be in Booth N2630.
