IBIS to Demonstrate Open Platform Newsroom Solution

At NAB, IBIS (Integrated Broadcast Information Systems) will demonstrate the versatility of open platforms with a complete newsroom solution using their hardware-agnostic media asset management solutions for a mixed platform newsroom on both PC and Mac.

The demonstration will show the workflow from ingest on an Omneon Spectrum server through editing on Final Cut Pro through play-to-air on the IBIS ServerPlay with a MOS gateway on AP’s ENPS newsroom.

The demonstration is designed to show true interoperability with the bulk movement of material back and forth between Sony XDCAM discs on an XDCart and an Avid newsroom environment.

IBIS will be feature both IBIS Highlighter and IBIS iFind in its NAB booth.

IBIS Highlighter, a sports capture application, will be handling live production highlights on an Omneon Spectrum server while a demonstration of News Factory, which marries Omneon’s Media Deck and a specially adapted version of IBIS ServerPlay, will be shown in the Omneon Booth (SU9620).

IBIS iFind, a Web-based Media Asset Management tool, changes how such news services as ITN and BBC regions handle the enterprise-wide search for information. Demonstrating remote access on a Mac laptop, iFind offers comprehensive MAM in a package that includes system-wide searching, sort, move, send to and restore from archive management. iFind uses true “Free Text” searching through individual words, not just matching a field to search criteria.

IBIS Archive will demonstrate archiving of material from server through content storage management middleware from partners including Xendata, SGL and Front Porch Digital.

IBIS will be at Booth SU8605.
