Fujinon Introduces Lenses, Pan/Tilt System

Fujinon is announcing three new lenses as well as a camera pan/tilt system at NAB2004. The products span the range from professional video to HD acquisition and continue to push at the limits of current capabilities.

Topping the company's lens announcements is the Fujinon HA25x16.5BERD, an HD ENG lens with a wide zoom range and low weight that allows it to be used without an external support bracket. With a maximum focal length of 826mm (using its 2x extender), the lens is switchable between the 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. The HA25x16.5BERD also features reduced focus breathing, an f-stop range of 2.8 to 4, and a weight of 6.5 pounds. An optical stabilizer can be fitted as an option.

For professional applications, Fujinon is introducing the S17x6.6BRM-A, and ENG-style lens designed for 1/2-inch CCD cameras. The S17x6.6BRM-A features a 17x zoom ratio and a fast aperture of f1.9, and the lens has an optional studio control kit.

The third lens that Fujinon is introducing at NAB2004 is its HAeF-10, a 10mm prime lens that is part of the company's HDTV Cine Super Style E product line. Featuring 280-degree focus rotation and a photometric aperture of T1.5, the HAeF-10 fits between the company's 8mm and 12mm offerings in this series.

Fujinon also manufactures remote-controlled pan/tilt products and the company is introducing an updated version of its popular CPT-70 camera support system. The updated CPT-70F-02A pan/tilt head features increased speed, reduced power consumption and can control major camera functions when used with the company's EOP-102J-60D control panel. The revised pan/tilt head also features a new RS-485 interface, 32 presets and a pan rotation of 300 degrees.
