Echolab to Introduce News Live Production Systems

At NAB, Echolab will launch several new live production targeting sports, news and live events.

The company will show a live demonstration of its new MultiPlayMD multidefinition, multichannel instant replay system, which allows operators to switch instantly between live, play, and record functions with instant synchronous playback available on all channels.

Echolab will also debut MegaKeyMD, a clip player, mixer, and keyer that can serve as a networked storage device for animated graphics and video clips. Accepting both HD and SD inputs, the system features a two-channel internal mixer and internal linear keyer to support play-out of dynamic video clips.

Echolab’s new Overture1 (1 ME) and Overture2 (2 ME) switchers, available in standard definition and multidefinition models, combine internal conversion and synchronization with powerful key layering and special effects. Four ME keys and two downstream keyers enable title keying for graphics, logos and bugs. The Overture family features unique Stinger and SuperSource keys for easy yet expert transitions.

Overture switchers accept up to 32 multiformat analog and digital signals and provide up to 16 multiformat outputs. Features include internal frame synchronization, and integrated upconversion and crossconversion within multidefinition models, which streamlines switching of video in multiple formats.

Echolab’s Conductor control integration system is a touchscreen computer with internal software tools that automate complex tasks and program elements to support fast, accurate and creative production. Pre-production mode lets the operator configure the switcher, create complex sequences, and assign functions to soft buttons. On-air mode makes Conductor an extension of the control panel with a touchscreen interface and soft buttons. In some applications, Conductor can replace a dedicated still store.

Echolab will be at Booth SU9607.
