da Vinci Systems has unveiled its Transformer, a high-speed image conversion and translation engine designed for the company's digital mastering suite Resolve.
The Transformer engine offers server-based resizing of 2K and 4K images, so users do not need to resize images at the film scanning stage, according to the Coral Springs, Fla.-based company. It also allows users to apply 1D and 3D LUTs on input and output while supporting high-quality image resolutions and real-time or faster processing at resolutions up to 2K.
By the end of the year, the Transformer board will be included with all current models of Resolve.
