Adtec Digital Unveils HD Encoder, HD Signage DVR

At NAB, Adtec Digital will showcase mediaHUB-HD, a high-definition real-time encoder targeted to ATSC, DVB and studio applications. It’s designed for contribution, distribution and studio applications in the broadcast, satellite, cable, ad insertion, VOD and professional video markets.

mediaHUB-HD’s MPEG-2 video encoder provides HD video at bit-rates as low as 7 Mbps, broadcast-quality HD video for ATSC at 10 to 12 Mbps and contribution quality at bit-rates up to 59 Mbps. It supports HD 1080i, 720p and SD (both 420 and 422), as well as multiple-channel stereo encoding with Dolby Digital and MPEG audio encoders.

The mediaHUB-HD also incorporates a built-in high-definition decoder and a 750 GB hard drive. For contribution and distribution applications, mediaHUB-HD has the ability to provide and maintain a “constant capture” of content for archival.

Adtec will also exhibit the new signEdje-HD digital video player. Featuring MPEG 2 and AVC/H.264 high-definition and standard-definition video file playback from internal solid-state storage or through IP stream decoding, it’s aimed at digital signage, retail (kiosks and point-of-purchase displays), trade shows, museums and private IP networks.

The signEdje-HD features a built-in command interface and content scheduler for a variety of successful playback options. Broadcast quality video files can be programmed to play on a loop when the unit receives power, triggered to play according to time, or activated from external control systems via the parallel or serial port. Synchronized playback is also an option, which allows multiple players to be deployed on the same network.

Adtec Digital will be at Booth SL6110.
