Turner Adds Fast Forward DVRs to College Football Coverage
Turner Sports will implement Fast Forward Video Inc.'s Omega Deck DVRs for a new college football package this fall.

Operated from a mobile production unit, the Omega Decks will be used for replay transitions, commercial bumps and transition wipes during Saturday PAC10 and Big 12 football games. In video key mode, the technical director will run a dual deck and video key controlled through a Lance controller or straight machine control directly from the switcher timelines.

The Omega Deck uses the controls, inputs and outputs of standard analog tape decks, and provides clean digital video and nonlinear random access. Enhanced networking and playback functions give operators greater control in a variety of environments and configurations.

Turner already uses Omega Decks for Thursday night NBA coverage, Atlanta Braves baseball and Atlanta Thrashers hockey.
