'Tonight Show' Upgrades With Euphonix
NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has installed two Euphonix System 5 digital mixing consoles to join the existing Euphonix CS3000B production console. Studio 3's music room features a 220-channel System 5 with 48 multi-track busses, 16 auxes and 12 mix busses. 96 remote-controlled microphone preamps, 48 analog I/O and 24 AES I/O enable the mixers to handle the guest act and the house band. At the PA mixing position, a second System 5 was installed.

Additionally, the KNBC local news studio, also located on the NBC lot, upgraded to a System 5-B at the end of last year for its daily news broadcasts. Another Euphonix CS series console is used by NBC network news.
