Time Warner Deploys Pace DC-550 HD
Time Warner Cable is marketing Pace's new DC-550 HD Digital Cable set-top, an HD digital cable set-top, which offers features like an IR Receive tether that lets the consumer hide the set-top and operate it via an "remote eye."

Pace says the DC-550 HD is the smallest HD set-top, at less than 4 pounds and includes 260 MIPS processing power and 64 MB of memory. It is also touted as the first HD cable set-top with component video loop-through connectivity for devices like DVDs and game consoles as well as the first set-top with both optical and electrical audio loop-through connectivity.

The DC-550 HD supports HD video scaling in program guides and has dynamic range management of output scan-rate conversions and aspect ratios as well as zoom and stretch control of both SD and HD content.
