SSL Supplies C100HD Digital Console to Great American Country
Great American Country (GAC), the Nashville-based country music network owned by Scripps Networks, has selected a Solid State Logic
C100 digital audio console for use in producing entertainment programming for the network.
The console will be installed in the network's new production studio located on Nashville's Music Row and will be used in connection with such shows as "On the Streets" and "GAC Top 20 Country Countdown."
According to Kevin Kritch, vice president of GAC's production operations, the decision to go with SSL was based on the track record of the product at other Scripps operations, as well as GAC's expansion plans.
"We looked at other consoles, but SSL has a proven track record among numerous Scripps owned properties, including Food Network and broadcast stations, that are extremely pleased with the results," Kritch said. "We anticipate more performance-based production in the facility, so it was important for us to have a good quality sound board that provides a lot of flexibility, as well as having multi-tracking capabilities."
Installation of the new console is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
