SeaChange VOD System Supports DMDsecure
To support growing telco and cable MSO VOD opportunities, SeaChange International's MediaCluster-based VOD system now supports content protection from DMDsecure. The integrated system supplies telco and cable operator with encryption protection for VOD content encoded with compression technologies.

SeaChange's VOD system enables streaming of multi-format VOD streams over DSL, FTTH and HFC networks. DMDsecure's open, interoperable DRM software shields digital content, while creating, managing, delivering and enforcing rights. Licensing of content can be done in advance, or at the time the content is viewed, and can adapt to individual business models required by each operator.

The agreement "marks the availability of essential integrated components for VOD services over IP networks," said Rist Brouwer, CEO of DMDsecure. "In order to guarantee protection of valuable content...Telcos and Cable operators demand standards-based, scalable integrated solutions that SeaChange and DMDsecure deliver."
