December 7, 2007
Screen Subtitling Systems has selected Rhozet Carbon Coder video transcoder for use in its Poliscript MediaTrans solution. The integration of Carbon Coder into the MediaTrans subtitling system speeds up the post-production workflow by allowing users to bypass the nonlinear editor, and transcode content directly with subtitles. “Carbon Coder is a natural fit for our MediaTrans customers wanting to make their workflows more efficient,” said John Birch, strategic partnerships manager at Screen Subtitling Systems. “Carbon Coder also supports all of the major media formats our users need for a host of applications, such as broadcast, Web, mobile and IPTV.” MediaTrans with the Carbon Coder Option supports burnt-in subtitles and Line 21 closed-caption insertion directly into media files, as well as transcoding, watermarking, logo insertion or video scaling. The MediaTrans Carbon Coder Option supports a range of media formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (H.264), H.263, SMPTE VC-1, Flash, DV25, DV50, DVCPRO, DPS, DivX, JPEG2000, Windows Media and RealVideo. Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder is a transcoding application that facilitates the transfer of media between a variety of platforms. Carbon Coder can run as a standalone application or as part of a multinode, fully automated rendering farm. Rhozet is a business unit of Harmonic Inc.
