Panasonic Integrates Gemstar-TV Guide's IPG into Consumer Sets
Gemstar-TV Guide struck a multi-year agreement with Matsushita to incorporate Gemstar's latest interactive program guide (IPG) into Panasonic consumer TV sets in North America. The two companies have had a similar arrangement for consumers sets sold in Japan since 2001.Matsushita will pay license fees to Gemstar based on the number of IPG-enabled units sold. Gemstar, which announced the agreement, said it does not include a minimum commitment.
