NY1 Expands Regional News with Omnibus, Avid
To accommodate regional bureaus in the New York area, Time Warner Cable is expanding its OmniBus automation system.

As part of the upgrade, OmniBus also worked with Avid to enhance its interface to news editing systems and playout servers.

The project was designed to build a studio--that produces local content for Staten Island and Bergen County, N.J.--that matches the design of the NY1 studio. Also, the NY1 studio can access content created by the regional bureaus with the help of Avid NewsCutter XP software and Avid AirSpace servers that publish the content.

NY1 will broadcast several minutes of bureau-originated content at 15 minutes past the hour.
