NY1 Buys Avid Gear
NY1 News has recently purchased Avid news systems for its several of its bureaus.

Two Avid Unity LANshare EX for News systems will provide a digital end-to-end workflow that the three locations in New York City, Staten Island and also in Bergen County, N.J.

NY1 News is currently editing content with the Avid NewsCutter XP workstations, moving media with the TransferManager and using the Avid AirSpeed video server for playout.

"The integration of Avid's storage and editing solutions with other vendors has made is possible to create automated local insertion segments of exclusive programming in different Time Warner Cable zone in the NYC area," said Joe Truncale, director of technical operations and engineering for NY1.
