NBC Olympics Crew to Edit With Avid
The NBC shop being set up in Salt Lake City to cover the Winter Olympics will house the largest deployment of Avid Technology Inc.'s editing systems for any sporting event ever, according to the Tewksbury, Mass.-based company.

The NBC broadcast facility will house 14 Symphony editorial systems; seven Unity MediaNet systems for networking and storage and 11 Media Station XL systems for digitizing and output of game footage. The facility will be used by more than 2,500 people who plan to deliver over 375 hours of programming during the two-week event.
