Media Links Delivers HDTV Footage of World Cup in Japan
Media Links is providing World Cup soccer footage in uncompressed HDTV over OC-48 to major television networks in Japan.

The Media Links MD-7024 Media Converter was installed at Japan Telecom in Tokyo and the major television networks to transport live World Cup coverage of games being played in Japan in uncompressed HDTV. The MD-7024 converts one HD signal and two SD signals into IP packets and provides bi-directional, high-speed delivery. The company has also installed MD-7024s at two of the stadiums in order to test native uncompressed HDTV transported straight from the source.
