Ion Taps Genesis for Fiber Links

Ion Media Networks has chosen the Genesis Networks fiber infrastructure to link Ion's New York station, WPXN with the Ion network operations center in Clearwater, Fla. Ion is also using the fiber network to distribute to stations in Southern Florida.

Ion is using Genesis' ASI duplex fiber circuit to connect several facilities with the Genesis point of presence (POP) in Miami. Genesis is also supplying the network with all the required transmission hardware, application configuration and a fully managed 24/7 ASI transmission service. The link supplied by Genesis Networks provides a secure fiber connection between the Ion NOC and Ion stations WPXM in Miami and WPXP in West Palm Beach, Fla.
