HDNet, San Francisco's KTVU Broadcast Fireworks in HD
Fox affiliate KTVU in San Francisco is partnering with HDNet to broadcast a live HDTV broadcast of San Francisco's 2002 Fourth of July Waterfront Celebration. The annual event attracts as many as 500,000 people to the San Francisco waterfront.

The one-hour special is airing on KTVU's digital station and on HDNet's all-HD national network on channel 199 on DirecTV. It is hosted by KTVU's weekend sports anchor, Joe Fonzi, and KTVU News reporter Traci Mitchell. The fireworks display is being launched from the Municipal Pier at the city's Aquatic Park and from a barge.
