Fujinon HD Lenses Eyed for Mira's Newest Truck
Mira Mobile Television said it has just purchased eight Fujinon HD lenses for the company's newest HD production truck (M8HD) which the Portland, Ore., company said is set to be put in field service this month.
M8HD's complement of new HD lenses will include:
- • Three XA72x9.3BESM telephotos
- • Two XA88x8.8BESM telephotos
- • Three ZA22 X 7.6BERM handhelds
The new trailer is 48 feet long with an expandable side that extends to 35 feet.
The HD mobile unit will feature as "standard equipment" at least seven HDC-1450 HD cameras from Sony that can be configured for fixed or handheld use.
Mira said M8HD was built and equipped as part of a new long-term deal with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area in order to provide dual-production facilities for visiting sports teams in Oakland and San Jose, Calif, as well as San Francisco. (The new truck will provide side-by-side, dual-feed facilities in tandem with M7HD, which rolled out last August.) M8HD, however, also is capable of standalone productions.
Mira, which also has facilities in Vancouver, B.C., will now operate a total of seven mobile units—including three HD facilities.
