Charter Taps Kasenna for VOD Servers
Charter Communications has deployed Kasenna MediaBase XMP video servers in response to the popularity of Charter OnDemand, its VOD library of movies, premium channel hits, sports, music and more.

Previously, Charter installed MediaBase servers to support the initial rollout of VOD services in Malibu, Calif. last June, using the C-COR nABLE demand management system. N2 Broadband, the Mountain View, Calif.-based company's cable market partner, assisted with these new deployments for Charter.

"We believe that eventually, all video systems will be built around open standards that reduce costs and facilitate rapid development of new services," said Mark Gray, CEO and Chairman of Kasenna, a leader in IP video delivery.
