Alabama Public TV Taps ILC to Monitor Networks
TV graphics manufacturer Alabama Public TV (APT) will use ILC MaxView to monitor and control its domestic microwave and satellite networks.

MaxView will automate outage recovery for the network. Windell Wood, APT director of engineering said that outages occur several times a week and to address that issue APT will transition to a satellite uplink as its main delivery method by February. Its microwave network will be reserved for redundancy, according to Wood.

"By using MaxView to full automate fault management across its hybrid satellite/microwave network, APT ensures network uptime while freeing its staff to concentrate on other duties," said Mark Krikorian, vice president of Atlanta-based ILC.

Other clients of the network control software manufacturer include PBS, NBC and DirecTV.
