ABCNews.com, ESPN.com to Supply News and Sports to Wireless Devices
Raleigh, NC-based wireless developer Summus has teamed up with ABCNews.com and ESPN.com to develop mobile applications for ABC News and ESPN's X Games. ABC News Mobile Headlines and ESPN's X Games Top Shots will provide wireless subscribers with photo-rich multimedia features powered by Summus' BlueFuelSuperfast, Superthin platform, which lets service providers, content providers and handset manufacturers to create and deliver mobile applications.
ABC's application lets users view news stories and images and personalize the stories they receive based on their interests. The X Games "Top Shots," which also runs on BlueFuel, lets wireless subscribers view and rank photos showing X Games' best tricks and stunts and other action sports. Users can choose to view photos of their favorite athletes.
