ABCNews Gets Digital Makeover with Grass Valley
ABCNews has installed Grass Valley digital production and distribution gear.

As part of the upgrade, the new studio for "World News Tonight" and other ABC programs now uses a Grass Valley Kalypso Duo Video Production Center, two Apex 512 audio routing switchers, Trinix 512 and 256 video routers--that handle both SD and HD signals--and several Kameleon and Gecko conversion modules. To manage its modular conversion products, ABCNews also purchased the Jupiter control system and Newton control system.

"ABC clearly understands the benefits of going digital," said Marc Valentin, president, Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions.
