PRINCETON, N.J. — March 9, 2009 — At the 2009 NAB Show, experts from Triveni Digital will participate in three NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference sessions dedicated to the subjects of DTV and mobile content delivery. Dr. Richard Chernock, chief technology officer at Triveni Digital, will be a featured presenter for the "IEEE-BTS Technology Tutorial: The ATSC Mobile DTV Candidate Standard," as well as for the "Mobile Television Technology" session, at which he will address ATSC M/H (mobile/handheld) content delivery. Ralph Bachofen, senior director of product management and marketing at Triveni Digital, will present at "Quality Control for Television," focusing on DTV carriage auditing.

"Triveni Digital is dedicated to the development of standards and products that enable broadcasters and other media companies to provide their customers with a quality viewing experience, regardless of the delivery platform," said Bachofen. "We have been proactive in advancing and refining the standards that are shaping our industry, and our extensive participation in the 2009 NAB Show's Broadcast Engineering Conference demonstrates the value of the knowledge and experience we have established through this process. We look forward to sharing our expertise through three key conference sessions."

Chernock's presentation on the ATSC Mobile DTV candidate standard, scheduled for 9:55 a.m. on April 18, will discuss details of the Service Multiplex and Transport Subsystem, as well as the Announcement subsystem of the A/153 Candidate Standard.

Chernock's presentations as part of the "Mobile Television Technology" session, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on April 19, will discuss the signaling and announcement metadata for M/H, comparing and contrasting the M/H metadata to existing PSIP metadata. Chernock also will outline mechanisms for adding M/H metadata flows to existing digital television stations while making only minimal changes or disruptions to existing flows. The second presentation will explore underlying technologies for ATSC M/H content delivery, illustrate how they work and how they fit into the M/H system, and discuss practical implications for M/H system design and deployment.

Bachofen's presentation on DTV carriage auditing, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 20, is titled "What Happened to My Transport Stream?" Through a review of techniques for carriage auditing, Bachofen will explain how broadcasters can understand what, if any, modifications have been made to their signals as they are incorporated into another system, and how to implement valuable functions such as monitoring, logging, and trend analysis.
