Buena Park, CA - March 2008... Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, is pleased to announce it is the exclusive distributor-- throughout the Americas--of Da-Cappo Micro Microphones. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Da-Cappo Micro Microphones manufacturers a number of microphones optimized for theatrical, presentation, and broadcast applications where the ability to visually conceal the microphone is highly desirable. Featuring a unique, full frequency response capsule, an extensive range of adapters to interface with wireless systems from Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, and Audio Technica, replaceable cables with a tough, carbon Kevlar coated, 1.5 mm diameter (replaceable on all models except the lavaliere), and a broad range of colors, the Da-Cappo Micro Microphones lineup presently consists of the DA12 Single-ear Microphone, the DA03 Headset Mic with Folding Ears, and the DA04 Lavaliere Microphone.

The essence of a quality microphone is its capsule and this is, without question, among Da-Cappo‘s finest attributes. Utilizing a water-resistant, European designed 2.5 mm diameter capsule, these Omni directional microphones deliver extremely natural sounding, full 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response with a rich low end, articulate midrange, and pristine, high frequency performance. The capsule also provides superb EMI (electro-magnetic interference) protection. Of particular note, the capsule is water resistant and, hence, impervious to perspiration or rain--making these microphones ideal for performers and broadcasters who, for example, must routinely endure the heat generated by stage lighting systems.

Currently, the Da-Cappo microphones utilize one of two available capsules. The specifications for each capsule are identical with the exception that one has a 10 dB lower sensitivity rating. This capsule is often specified by broadcast professionals who require the extra headroom provided by a capsule with lower sensitivity.

The DA12 Single-ear Microphone

The Da-Cappo DA12 features the company‘s European designed 2.5 mm diameter capsule for full frequency audio performance. This microphone incorporates a radical new earpiece design that can be adjusted to suit smaller or larger ears and includes an adjustable boom length to suit different faces and applications. The system package includes a lavaliere style mic clip to secure the cable to one‘s collar behind the head, a zippered leatherette microphone case, a cable, a cable clip, a wind sock, and an adaptor of one‘s choice.

The DA03 Headset Mic with Folding Ears

Da-Cappo‘s DA03 microphone features the company‘s European designed 2.5 mm diameter capsule and a unique dual-ear suspension design that enables the ears to fold flat through the use of a spring-loaded, locking system. This unique design facilitates storage in a very compact, flat format. The DA03 also facilitates interchangeable (left/right) ear configurations. The DA03‘s cable is removable and the system package includes an adaptor of one‘s choice.

The DA04 Lavaliere Microphone

The Da-Cappo DA04 lavaliere style microphone employs the company‘s European designed 2.5 mm diameter capsule. Available in both beige and black, the DA04 has the same carbon Kevlar outer shield on the cable. With the microphone‘s crisp vocal response, its water resistant design, and its flexible adaptor system, this microphone is proving popular with professional broadcasters and the theatrical community. The microphone system includes a cable and an adaptor of one‘s choice.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology‘s National Marketing Manager, commented on the Da-Cappo microphones and Hosa‘s new distribution arrangement. “We are delighted to be able to offer Da-Cappo microphones,” states Pusey. “Not only does this product group add to our company‘s already diverse portfolio, it also presents sales opportunities in a number of new market segments. With distribution throughout North, Central, and South America, we believe these markets are ripe for high performance microphone systems that deliver world-class sound quality, are extremely robust thanks to the design of their water resistant capsules, and their availability in multiple color choices that enable them to blend seamlessly into a wide range of applications. I believe the Hosa - Da-Cappo distribution arrangement will serve both companies well.”

The Da-Cappo Micro Microphones are slated for delivery Q2 of 2008. MSRP pricing for the microphones is as follows:

1. DA12 Single-ear Microphone, $500.00 ($570.00 for -10 dB version)

2. DA03 Headset Mic, $470.00 ($495.00 for -10 dB version)

3. DA04 Lavaliere Microphone, $320.00 ($330.00 for -10 dB version)
