Prism Sound’s range of test and measurement equipment is now being represented in Sweden by MixRommet, a subsidiary of Oslo-based distributor LydRommet, which already handles Prism Sound’s range in Norway.

Established in 2007, Stockholm-based MixRommet shares service, support and administration facilities with LydRommet. The company is headed by Gunnar Silins, who spent more than 20 years as a sound engineer, maintenance engineer and recording studio manager before moving into pro audio sales. Since 1988 Silins has worked for several distribution companies in Sweden, selling and supporting a number of key equipment brands including Neutrik Test Instruments, which he represented for nearly five years.

Prism Sound has been supplying successful high quality audio test solutions for more than 20 years. The company’s solutions provide state-of-the-art testing capabilities, backed up by consultancy and support services that are recognised as the best in the industry.

It’s flagship product range is the dScope Series III audio analyzer platform, a range of portable and versatile audio test solutions that offer comprehensive analogue and digital audio signal generation and analysis tools, plus support for digital audio carrier testing, quasi-anechoic microphone/loudspeaker analysis and testing of Windows™ sound devices. Users can also define their own analysis filters or measurement algorithms, enabling dScope Series III to go far beyond the hugely flexible tool that is already provided as standard. dScope Series III can be easily automated using its built in VBScript interpreter, enabling the creation of custom test routines and pass/fail limit checking. Furthermore, Test automation can also be accomplished with dScope’s “COM” interface, when using external automation software. This makes dScope Series III ideally suited to production line testing applications, where testing of many different types of functionality in different domains (analogue, digital, electronic, acoustic) can all be accomplished using this single instrument.

The dScope Series III system comprises a Windows PC (XP™ and Vista™ compatible) software application coupled with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connection.

Commenting on MixRommet’s appointment, Gunnar Silins says: “Prism Sound’s dScope Series III is a remarkable instrumentation platform that offers flexibility, a high level of functionality and an attractive price point. It obviously fits very well into MixRommet’s regular customer base of pro-audio users and broadcasters. I am confident that my earlier experience of selling test and measurement equipment to manufacturers and other users outside the traditional world of sound people will be of great benefit to both Prism Sound and MixRommet.”

Simon Woollard, Applications Engineer for Prism Sound, adds: ”MixRommet is very well respected in Sweden and already represents a number of key professional audio brands including Studer, RME, Trinnov Audio and Dangerous Music. We are really delighted to have someone of Gunnar’s caliber on our team and look forward to reinforcing dScope’s presence in Sweden with this extra provision of local technical sales and support.”
