Steve Schrader, a broadcast engineer with WJTV-TV in Jackson, Miss., was clearing out the transmitter building from sister station WHLT-TV in Hattiesburg, Miss., last weekend:
Steve took the back door off and began to check out the transmitter without his glasses. "I thought to myself," Steve said, "what is this strand shielding doing in here. Then I put my glasses on and made a quick exit":

Steve continues: "After I regained my composure I realized he was crispy. I know it's a bit blurry but see the black mark on his head. (ouch)"

Steve didn't care what kind of snake it was, only that it was dead. "What's the moral of this story?" Steve asked...

"Always wear your glasses."

Snake in a Transmitter

Ah yes, nothing tastes better when your working at a remote transmitter site than a nice serving of "Final Fried Snake" or "Electrocuted Eel".

Tom, you are tech savvy so I pose this question: http://www.televisions.com/News/Adobe_Flash_to_conquer_the_TV_market.php -- "According to this article I read, Adobe expects to see the first Flash-ready TVs by the end of this year. Any ideas which manufacturers are on board?"

Snake in a Transmitter

Only thing scarier for me was finding live scorpions in and on a transmitter I worked on 23 years ago in Longview, TX.
