divaworks200.jpg Front Porch Digital has launched several new products at NAB. After all, as Dave Polyard, the company's senior vice president of sales, says, "If you can't find it, you can't use it. And if you can't use it, you can't monetize it."

To that end, the company has introduced the DIVAworks family, a range of plug-and-play content storage and protection solutions. The family is available in three configurations designed to suit a range of workflows and budgets:

  • DIVAworks Basic: an entry-level system comprised of a 24-slot datatape library, a single LTO-4 datatape drive, and a Windows-based, single-CPU server running the DIVArchive CSM software.
  • DIVAworks Enhanced: a middle-level solution comprised of a 48-slot datatape library, dual LTO-4 datatape drives, and two Windows-based, single-CPU servers running the DIVArchive CSM software. It offers failure protection and increased system throughput.
  • DIVAworks Professional: a scalable and redundant solution occupying 13RU of space, with an expandable 50-slot datatape library, dual LTO-4 datatape drives, and two Windows-based, single-CPU servers running the DIVArchive CSM software. It offers redundancy and a growth path for ever-expanding file-based storage infrastructure.
  • Also new is DIVAprotect, an optional enhancement to the company's DIVArchive content storage management system. As its names suggests, DIVAprotect protects content from data tape and drive degradation by continually monitoring digital storage infrastructure. It collects quality and performance data with each DIVArchive transaction and analyzes whether the information indicates the probability that any individual file-based media object in the system could be at risk. When DIVAprotect determines a particular storage device is at risk, it identifies media objects that might be affected and alerts technical staff so that they can respond proactively.
