SHELTON, CT, March 30, 2009 – Anton/Bauer, a brand of The Vitec Group, and the world’s premier provider of professional video camera batteries, chargers, lighting and other mobile power systems, is announcing the appointment of Graham Ramsey as Vice President of Sales.
Ramsey, an industry veteran with a proven sales track record spanning more than two decades, moves to Anton/Bauer from Clear-Com, another Vitec Group brand. In his new capacity as Vice President of Sales, Ramsey will oversee all sales for Anton/Bauer worldwide and will work closely with Shin Minowa, recently promoted to Vice President, Marketing and Business Development.
“I’m very excited about the opportunities I see ahead as the broadcast and video industries continue to transition in the face of changing technology and market forces,” says Ramsey. “The modern business paradigms that are developing will open up whole new avenues for expansion. I believe that Anton/Bauer is uniquely positioned with its state-of-the-art technology solutions to take full advantage of these opportunities.”
“Leveraging our technology to meet specific customer applications is critical to successfully compete in today's challenging environment,” says Michael Accardi, President of Anton/Bauer. “With his many years of solid experience in sales and support program development, as well as his broad knowledge of existing and emerging markets, Ramsey is the ideal candidate to continue development of our sales efforts and help us achieve established goals.”
Before joining Anton/Bauer, Ramsey was Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Support for Clear-Com, where he established and directed the sales and support efforts in Cambridge, UK, and in Alameda, California. Prior to that, he spent 18 years at Vinten Broadcast, Inc., as General Manager responsible for the commercial operation of Vinten in its global markets.
During his career, Ramsey has logged significant successes in each position he has held. At Clear-Com, his sales and support achievements helped establish the company’s place as a global market leader in professional communication systems for production teams. While at Vinten, Ramsey set up a fully operational marketing office in Singapore in less than two months and generated a six-fold increase in sales in China over a four-year period. The result of his professional efforts on behalf of each company has been increased market opportunities and brand strength.
“We fully expect that Ramsey’s impressive ability to drive sales and manage customer support programs will add a powerful dynamic to the sales and marketing efforts of Anton/Bauer,” says Joop Janssen, Chief Executive, Broadcast Systems division for Vitec Group. “We believe he will have an impressive impact on the company’s success.”
