News Release

For Immediate Release

Iroquois, ON, Canada – March 10, 2009 – The American College, the nation’s premier financial services educator, upgrades its educational broadcast studio to HD with Ross Vision 1 QMD Multi-Definition Production Switcher and SoftMetal Video Server.

On air since the fall of 2008, The American College located in Bryn Mawr, PA, had two goals for their HD upgrade: efficiency and image. Vision offered the college versatility, ease of use, and was within the right price range. SoftMetal provided a tapeless environment and gave the ability to store significant amounts of material.

“The Ross Vision gave us all the ins and outs our studio required and we were quickly trained on the switcher,” said Geoffrey Gundersdorf, Director of Digital Media, The American College. “SoftMetal’s features are ideal – during a live production we can playback material out of the server and record to it at the same time.”

The Ross production equipment was recommended by Lerro Corporation, a trusted local dealer responsible for the design and build of the HD studio. The American College produces a significant amount of material for the TheWealthChannel.com. Serving the needs of professionals, The Wealth Channel™ is the nation's definitive online source of insight and knowledge into the creation of financial security through the growth, protection and distribution of savings and investments.

“The Ross equipment we have in house gives us a lot of flexibility. We’re able to jump between set and chroma key shots very efficiently,” said Geoffrey Gundersdorf. “The chroma key abilities on Vision are extraordinary. In conjunction with the CG capabilities, our studio has many production advantages and it shows in our product.”

“Ross has proven to be successful in educational broadcast studios,” said David Ross, CEO, Ross Video. “The Ross design philosophy is to ensure quality products that deliver outstanding performance in any live production setting. It’s great The American College has expanded their production capabilities with Vision and SoftMetal.”
