New Orleans, LA, August 6, 2009 - Globalstor Data Corporation, a premier OEM integrator of high-performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, is pleased to announce that JVC has chosen the company's ExtremeStor-4K video storage and playback workstation for RED and stereo applications to showcase its state-of-the-art HD 3D display technology in a series of demonstrations at SIGGRAPH 2009 (JVC Booth #3501).
For the demos, the ExtremeStor-4K workstation, incorporating the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 SDI by PNY with the SCRATCH data workflow and post-production tool suite from ASSIMILATE, is handling the play back of 3D content provided by ASSIMILATE, delivering it to JVC's new GD-463D10 full HD 3D LCD monitor in real time. The result is a cutting-edge DI solution that offers a 3D digital workflow with the ability to conform, color grade, finish and play back content in real time as uncompressed 2K stereoscopic content at up to 60 frames per second.
Thanks to the ExtremeStor-4K's ability to process extremely large, uncompressed file sizes in real time, SIGGRAPH attendees can take in the breathtaking quality of the 46-inch large and 1-1/2 inches (39mm) thin JVC GD-463D10, featuring the company's unique high-quality 3D visual engine to deliver a natural, flicker-free visual experience for professional applications.
"The aim of our GD-463D10 demonstrations at SIGGRAPH is to give industry professionals the chance to experience the next step in visualization solutions for 3D production and post, says David Walton, assistant vice president for marketing communications at JVC. "The Globalstor ExtremeStor-4K is the ideal hardware tool for such a demonstration, because it easily handles the playback of the extremely high-resolution files required by 3D post in real time. We're pleased to partner with them to display for our customers the future of 3D workflows."
Launched at NAB 2009 earlier this year, Globalstor's ExtremeStor-4K is the next generation of the company's acclaimed ExtremeStor-DI video storage workstation. This new solution is the first to offer native, uncompressed 4K, stereoscopic 2K and R3D (RED) real-time playback in single portable system. Unlike any approach offered by the competition, the ExtremeStor-4K offers its robust architecture, scalability, reliability and ease-of-use in a compact tower design that can also be rack-mounted.
"We're thrilled that JVC has chosen the ExtremeStor-4K as the hardware backbone of its SIGGRAPH 2009 demonstrations," says Scott Leif, president of Globalstor Data Corporation. "By partnering with the JVC GD-463D10, along with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 SDI card by PNY and the ASSIMILATE SCRATCH tool suite, we're not only able to show SIGGRAPH visitors a complete end-to-end 3D workflow, but one that is exceptionally fast, efficient and of remarkably high quality."
