Charlotte, NC MediaComm is an uncompromising, full-service production company located in Charlotte, NC, where it has catered to local, regional, national and international clients for the past 12 years. Currently, MediaComm supports Fox Sports Net, Speed Channel, Nascar Images, The Inspiration Networks and a host of cable and corporate clients with its video and audio editing suites, award winning broadcast design group, state-of-the-art studios and remote production facilities.

MediaComm has had continued success with RTS ADAM digital matrices, upgrading their system in Summer 2003 with an ADAM 136 used with numerous KP-32 and KP-12 keypanels. Engineering Manager Chuck Brite gave an example how the ADAM makes a difference in the daily running of a busy TV network: “The Inspiration Networks operates two full-time satellite religious networks, whilst managing accounts for several other organizations. Along with our Inspiration Networks programming, we frequently have three productions underway simultaneously. We do a lot of production work with NASCAR Images and Speed Channel. The ADAM’s extensive multi-channel capabilities, along with the ability to reprogram the keypanels to different configurations quickly, are major advantages for us. We have 88 ports on the ADAM, with around 70 in use. We have a mixture of keypanels –lots of KP-32s KP-32-16s and KP-12s. We’ve been using ADAM for quite a few years now, with great success. Michael Brown and Chuck Roberts of RTS upgraded our systems about nine months ago - we now have the full system, extendable to 136 ports.”

The largest and most expandable in the RTS Matrix family, ADAM provides up to 136 ports in a single 7RU frame, and can be expanded to 1,000 ports in a single matrix. ADAM comes standard with redundant power supplies and redundant controllers, and features automatic changeover in the event of failure. ADAM is available with a wide variety of cabling options, including RJ-11, DB-9, jackfields, and many others.

Bart Palmer, Vice President of Engineering at MediaComm commented: “RTS has provided us with a total communication solutions for our facility, one of the premier production houses in the Southeast. It is absolutely necessary to have a system of this efficiency and caliber for our outside clientele. Our ADAM ties together our studios, control room, tape room and remote sources, so it has to be reliable as well as flexible during our busy, ongoing production schedule.”

“RTS has never failed us,” Palmer continued. “It consistently meets and beats expectations. We have had RTS systems in various forms for the last several years, and in 2003 upgraded to an 88 port ADAM Matrix intercom system. We highly recommend RTS to other broadcasting and production facilities.”
