WASHINGTON: Creators of cutting-edge TV technology will be recognized at the NAB show this year. The April trade show will feature the inaugural Technology Innovation Awards, and this year’s winners include two Japanese organizations.
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, a national telecom research concern, will be recognized for its 3D work. NICT will demonstrate holographic TV, glasses-free 3D displays, 3D television programming being transmitted via broadband from Japan and “a multisensory-interaction system that explores human interface to communications media,” the NAB said. It will be the first time NICT has done such demos outside of Japan.
