OpenTV, eventIS jointly introduce cable VOD solution

Video-on-demand solution specialist eventIS and advanced TV service provider OpenTV jointly introduced a preintegrated, end-to-end cable VOD system at IBC2008.

Together the companies are providing cable operators with a VOD solution that allows them to differentiate their services with advanced features. The solution incorporates HD, start-over TV and catch-up TV functionality.

The system is based on the eventIS VoD back office solution, featuring PRODIS and TRAXIS, as well as on OpenTV Core2 middleware and the OpenTV HTML browser solution.

The eventIS back office solution looks after content and transaction management and includes prepackaged VoD content available on a free, subscription and pay-per-view basis. The OpenTV client middleware solution supports HTML-based applications, which lets cable operators create VOD store fronts.
