Harmonic shows IP delivery

Harmonic showcased its IP-based digital video solutions last week at CommunicAsia in Singapore.

Targeting established pay-TV operators in Asia who are deploying IP-based solutions to enhance their service offerings, Harmonic showed live demonstrations of its DiviCom Electra encoders. One demonstration included a showing with SingTel’s mio TV service powered by the Electra 7000 HD MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) encoder.

The company also showed on-demand video delivery with its Armada intelligent asset manager and StreamLiner video servers, and universal transcoding with the Rhozet Carbon Coder. Also on display were the ProStream family of stream procession solutions including digital mosaics, HD H.264 ad insertion and forward error correction.
