Network takes real-time drama to new space

The clock maybe winding down on this season of FOX's television show, "24", but soon viewers will be able to get select episodes of the real-time drama anytime they want – for a price.

The network has developed a partnership deal with Myspace.com, the social networking Web site, to make the premiere episode of "24" and the first episode of season five available for free. The remainder episodes from both seasons will cost $1.99 per download and be available through a Web page sponsored by Burger King. The new service launches May 22, the same day "24" airs its two-hour season finale. News Corp. owns both FOX and Myspace.com.

"24" marks the first time that network television content is being made available on a series basis through MySpace, but it is just the latest hit show being sold in the online arena. ABC, CBS and NBC are also launching new initiatives designed to reach new audiences in an untraditional format.
