MultiChoice upgrades digital DTH system with Scopus Network Technologies

MultiChoice Africa has selected Scopus Network Technologies’ digital broadcast platforms for DTH services. Through Scopus platforms, MultiChoice transmits 54 digitally compressed TV channels on the W4 platform.

The new contract expands and upgrades the current systems with new platforms as well as technologies that push MultiChoice's digital broadcast abilities into the future. The upgraded system also enables an increase in market presence encompassing a wide swath of French- and Portuguese-speaking Africa.

Scopus is supplying MultiChoice's Telefonica's Satellite Control Centre (SCC) in Guadalajara with a full platform including the CODICO E-1200 Professional Encoder, the CODICO RTM-3800 Statistical Multiplexer/Re-multiplexer, a PSI/SI generator, and the Scopus NMS 4030 network management system.
