GoldPocket Interactive Acquires Mixed Signals iTV
iTV provider GoldPocket Interactive has acquired Mixed Signals iTV Professional Services Group, a provider of iTV programming.

GPi makes a turnkey system designed to engage viewers in programming, encourage them to stay tuned during commercials and increase loyalty to networks and programming. The company believes that combining its EventMatrix technology with the set-top development expertise of Mixed Signals will help GPi set a new standard for iTV programming.

The company hopes that its expansion will benefit networks and sponsors by allowing them to increase the reach and depth of the entertainment experience for viewers. The growth of interactive programming the company plans to achieve through economies of scale may also drive the growth of digital set-top box deployments. A GPi official predicted that this spring more iTV inventory will be sold during television's "upfronts" than ever before, and will culminate in a massive launch of interactive programming this fall.
