Evertz to Acquire Quartz
Evertz Microsystems is acquiring Quartz Electronics, a Nevada City, Calif. provider of routing and master control technology to broadcasters worldwide.

Based in Burlington, Ontario, Evertz manufactures routers, keyers and logo inserters, timecode products, converters, film systems, fiber optics, monitoring solutions and closed-captioning gear. The company has a large multi-display installation in North America and is expanding to the U.K., Europe, Australia and parts of Asia.

With the companies combined, Evertz will have approximately 360 employees. The number of those who are redundant is not yet known but Evertz does not have immediate layoff plans.
