CEA Announces Latest DTV Tuner Sales
According to the Consumer Electronics Association, more than 1.2 million over-the-air DTV tuners have been sold factory-to-dealer since their introduction to the market in 1998. CEA President Gary Shapiro acknowledged "another important milestone in the analog to digital television transition." CEA expects to see choices for receiving devices continue to expand.

"Today more than 9 million U.S. households own a DTV product. Digital cable ready (DCR) HDTV sets are making their way to retail shelves and present yet another option for American consumers," said Shapiro. CEA will present its sales projections for DTV tuners at its Ninth Annual HDTV Summit: "Partnership, Policy and Profits" on March 29 at the Washington D.C. Convention Center.
